Gizzy was actually kept outside for 51/2 years and she had 9 ailments and had to take 11 medications a day and be bathed once a day and soaked once a day. She was catatonic for approximately 5 months. Her foster mom, later adoptive mother, still remembers when the “light” of life began to shine in her beautiful little eyes. Gizzy finally came back—she now knew it was safe to return. Unfortunately because her system had been so severely compromised after years of neglect, abuse, exposure to the elements and malnourishment she ended up with a degenerative liver ailment. She lived 1 ½ years after that diagnosis. In total Gizzy had 4 years—we got her in 6/00-—I think that’s right-of love from her adoptive mother and her furr sister and brothers.
