Bluegrass Shih Tzu Rescue, Inc. & Small Breed Rescue  just celebrated our 10th anniversary, 01/01/2010.  Since 2000, we have rescued over 800 homeless Shih Tzu,  Maltese & small breed.  An additional over a 100 rescue dogs  were sent to our approved sister rescues in other states, due to lack of room in our foster homes.    A heartwarming "THANKS" & APPRECIATION goes to each VOLUNTEER !! We are a group of highly committed, unpaid volunteers who have a passion for ALL ANIMALS. BGSTR,Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce the homeless Shih Tzu & Maltese population, stop the number of Shih Tzu & Maltese destroyed, abused & neglected by backyard breeders, puppy millers & individuals.  With your help this can be accomplished through spay/neuter, medical assistance, rescue, foster care, adoption of pets to "forever homes" and last but not least, educating the public.
