I would like for you to meet "Gizzy." She is a 10 year old Shih Tzu whose owner left her tied outside, sleeping on the ground for 3 1/2 years.When we rescued her she was unable to walk because her muscles had atrophied from lack of use.
She could not see from a combination of malnutrition and neglect. Poor Gizzy had lost 80% of her hair due to flea infestation and being exposed constantly to the weather. After she came into rescue the vet put her on 11 medications and 2 different special baths every other day. Gizzy had surgery to remove a tumor which fortunately was found to be benign.
I am happy to say that she has regained her sight to near normal range. She has a favorite chair which she loves to hop on and look out the window and watch the world go by. Her hair has 75% grown back, only her chest area is still somewhat bare. She is a very happy and appreciative Shih Tzu. Gizzy's medical bills were well over a $1500 and without your donations we would have never been able to meet her medical needs.
