Our rescue angels, Dave & Shirley saved this gentle soul, took him home and gave him the love and care he had long been without.
In their loving home, Barney got the respect & love he so deserved. Barney became Dave's shadow, from beside the comfort of the reclinder to the slow stroll down the hallway to his warm & cozy bed beside Dave.
Good night our friend! May your spirit watch over those that loved you so.
A sweet little boy, as white as he could be.
He followed me everywhere, even when it became hard,
We sat together in the house and played in the yard.
While I had him for such a little while,
he so often made me smile.
I thought I was fostering him for someone good and kind,
but Barnibus the Magnificant had another thought in mind.
He looked in our eyes when he arrived and said "gee this is swell"
Think I'll call the post office and have them forward my doggy mail.
I had a wonderful time, much more that I ever knew could be.
And you let me go, just when I asked you to because there were other things I wanted to see.
A world free of pain, with doggie treats and soft beds,
a wonderful place, where other happy doggies lay their heads.
I'll be right here waiting for you faithfully.
Missing you and thinking of you ever so greatfully.
After all there really was no "foster" in my mom and dad,
They were and still are the greatest a guy could ever have.
