Peekaboo is one of over 100 dogs removed from a
puppymill in November 2011. The authorities told us
she was blind and pregnant, as well as suffering from
skin, ear and eye infections, plus intestinal parasites.
We welcomed her into our rescue. Although she was
obviously uncomfortable, she is one of the sweetest
dogs we've had. She wiggles her rear and gives tiny
kisses. Her tail swishes like a celebrity wave. She'll
love you forever if you rub her belly. She has probably
never known human kindness until now.

Christmas came early for our little Peekaboo. On
December 12, she delivered seven beautiful,
healthy babies! This is quite a large litter for a
Shih Tzu and Peekaboo is taking her "mommy
duties" very seriously. Peekaboo would like you
to meet her kids. She has 2 baby girls and 5 baby
boys. (The brown and white pup is a male.) All of
the black puppies have different white patterns
on their chests.
Peekaboo and her babies will be ready to go
home around Valentine's Day

each puppy's chest so you can tell them apart.
We'll name them after the Seven Dwarfs, even
though none of them is actually Grumpy. You'll
notice that the puppies' ears are coming up now.
This means they can hear for the first time. By
next week, their eyes should be open too! Come
back and visit Peekaboo's little family.
